Marvin is a young photographer in his twenties, born and raised in Switzerland. He began his journey in photography at the CEPV in Vevey, where he first trained before pursuing with a bachelor in photography in the same institution. While still a student, he developed a deep interest in youth, nostalgia, and their aesthetics, refining his own vision of the coming-of-age theme. His work is strongly influenced by painting, theater, and the traditional practice of tableau vivant in theater.
Through carefully staged images, he seeks to capture
the subtle emotions, fleeting moments, and introspective nature of youth, creating visual narratives that balance between reality and constructed scenes.
By blending theatrical elements with a photographic perspective, Marvin’s work explores the way aesthetics
can evoke memory and emotion and how they became
parts of a generic imagery of youth. His interest in the tableau vivant allows him to create images that feel both timeless and deeply personal. Through this approach, he continues to develop his artistic language, crafting images that reflect his fascination and his questions about youth and growing up.
